Angel Review with a touch of Final Fantasy
I rather liked this one. There were a number of obvious flaws (for example, the flashback looked Just Wrong; the only good moment in it was spotting "Holland Manners" on the business card), but it had a sort of "early episodes" (ie. Buffy S1-3 and Angel S1) feel to it that I liked. Plus it served to underline the removal of Connor from the history of Angel Investigations and produced a timely reminder of the content (well, as much as we ever get) of the Shanshu prophecy.
The dialogue was good, but nothing struck me as outstanding. The pinning of the demon was a lovely scene and probably the most memorable of the lot. And I liked hearing about the advances that Gunn (etc) have made inside Wolfram and Hart for good. Also - it's the first episode where I realised that Angel himself is the only one of the old gang without an obvious role in the firm.
In other news Final Fantasy X-2 is on its way to me. I'm currently considering whether to replay X before starting on X-2. Plus I still haven't played V of course. But first, I need to finish Summoner.
