A rocking donkey

Today has been full of housework. My parents-in-law are arriving tomorrow so I have done a washing load, cleaned both bathrooms, helped Bea with her Xmas cards and made Pink Dolly Pasta with Ryan.

Today has also been full of snow - much to Reeve's annoyance. But then I'd be upset too if it snowed in my toilet.

I finished The Red House Mystery by A A Milne yesterday on the train. I really liked it. Additionally, it reminded me of Agatha Christie in all sorts of ways. It was the same sort of upper-class killing and there was an amateur detective on the scene to solve the crime. However, whilst the "Queen of Crime" tended to have half-a-dozen people with motives, this concentrated on the details of the crime and very few characters. Now I've finished it, I'm sorry to discover that it was the only mystery novel he wrote.

I suspect less exciting than it sounds!

Pasta, salmon, creme fraiche/cream (plus peas/sweetcorn optionally - we do this and have peas) and dill/chives snipped on top.

It's a recipe in one of the Kids' cookbooks and one of the three recipes that Ryan alternates between (the other two being Easy Speedy Pizza and various types of risotto).

Assuming you can alternate between three things!

Sounds yummy. (Except for the peas, of course, which are the devil's work.) But why 'Dolly', I wonder?

Sadly, I don't know.

Rhyming slang. Dolly Parton = creme fraiche carton.

(Possibly.)

Agreed!
