Surprised by your thoughts on Murakami. It's not only one of my favorites, but one of the few books that I've liked so much that I've been struggling through reading it in Japanese. I'll agree it's very depressing, but then so much of Japanese literature is.

I have 1Q84 on my Kindle, but I've been trying to figure out if I can get it to do Japanese.
