To your commentary I would add that the (lack of) gap between Matt deciding to trap Sylar and Peter turning up to tell him to stop it was extremely weak sauce.
I also don't really understand why in Matt's moral universe it's OK to trap someone inside their own head and wall them up in your cellar but not OK to just kill them. (Plus: why his own cellar? I wouldn't want Sylar in my cellar.)
