Judgement 8/10 and the Ace of Swords (7/10)
As I have said in every review, The Tarot series is, sadly, discontinued and therefore is not described on the BPAL site.
Judgement
Review one1 reads: "Starts out very juicy and turns into incensey. It smells like a head-shop. There's definitely nothing wrong with that. Or, as Vaniclion said, like an occult shop. And I can see ( or smell) what he means by "this smells like potential". But I can't explain it.
Quite an interesting one."
Review two says: "This is a very complex scent, which morphed on me a lot. At first it's quite medicinal, but in a warm, sweet sense like sticky cogh syrup. Then I get a lot of different woody notes, but also rather warm than green. I think I can detect sweet sandalwood and dry myrrh. This is a very warm and reassuring scent and also quite masculine, almost fatherly if that makes sense? It's fairly strong too, so it'll be interesting to see what this is going to smell like in a few hours."
In the bottle: Incensey.
On the skin: This is rather nice. It smells of incense and reminds me of Desire, but it's somewhat different. Hopefully the other reviews will help me pinpoint the differences.
An hour later: Sandalwood and Myrrh? Sounds plausible. I like this.
Ace of Swords
Review one1 reads: "Light and true to its airy nature, with a sense of peace in a way, but still sinister, like the cards of sorrow and defeat. I can tell that there is lavender and neroli in it and maybe sandalwood. Sharp, thin, and wispy, but with a definite edge."
Review two says: "The immediate aura is herbal tea. I can still smell the cherry (or maybe sweet almond) if I sniff my wrist directly, but mostly it’s cool green spices – and now I do get a hint of lavender, again it’s the very firm, almost sharp, smell of real lavender buds and not the generically soft-soothing fake lavender you find other places. This one is really interesting to my nose – I suspect I’ll be trying to pin it down all night. I can see why this is an air elemental – it’s not a typically airy/floaty sort of scent, but though it doesn’t smell like smoke or incense to me at all, I can picture a light wisp of smoke from a censer trailing up to a wide-open sky."
In the bottle: Faint and floral.
On the skin: Floral and citrus. I like this but, despite a liberal dose, it's really rather faint.
An hour later: If it had lasted at all, I'd have been interested in keeping it. Despite not spotting the lavender that everyone else is mentioning. Ah well.
1 Note: I tend to put BPAL on before I hunt reviews.
