Things have changed

At least glitter and confetti are still allowed.

Oxford University students will be fined for throwing other things at finalists. This includes spraying champagne.

Matters had come to a head in 2003 following the disbanding of the university's own, archaic police force.

They got rid of the proctors? No wonder people went nuts!

Taking food or fluids to celebrations with the intention of using them in this way would also be an offence.

Genius.

Right then...

Ok, so carrying flour or eggs around might be a bit tricky to defend ("No officer, I was just going to whip up a quick pancake!"). But how are they going to prove intent to pour champagne over people?

I'd have killed anyone who threw champagne, eggs or similar at me after finals. Champagne is designed solely for drinking, and I wouldn't have been amused by having to go home, shower and change before going out.

Go Oxford! Well done!
